Effective Meetings

I recently gave a presentation on meeting management. In my career I have been in hundreds and hundreds of meetings, most of them much longer than needed and horribly inefficient.

There are many ways you can make your meetings more efficient, clear agenda's, set ending time, invite only people that are truly needed, have a good facilitator who leads the meeting. There is ONE ground rule you can start applying today that can make a significant and positive difference to all your future meetings:

never EVER agree to a meeting that does not have a clear objective (communicated to all parties involved).

Have an agenda emailed to you beforehand so you (and the other participants) can prepare and have an efficient meeting.
