Environmental Education for kids is key for creating a sustainable future

I am sure many of you know that last week Earth Day was celebrated, for the 40th time this year! For me Earth Day-week usually means that participating in multiple celebrations together with the education birds.

So last week it was quite busy indeed, and a lot of fun. I volunteered in several booths sharing information about Raptors and the Ojai Raptor Center. Last Friday I was on the Carpinteria Bluffs with about 100 elementary school kids who participated in an educational celebration of Earthday. It is so great to see their eyes light up when they have an up-close and personal encounter with Ivan the Red-Tailed Hawk. And they ask the most interesting questions.

I feel that these kind of environmental educational experiences are key in creating a sustainable future. And I feel blessed that I can play a small and fun part in it, utilizing my life coaching skills and my passion for conserving the environment and it's wildlife.
